The International Youth Federation (IYF), is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is neutral politically, and non-denominational, aim to empower youth worldwide.

The IYF Regional Director (RD) is the senior member of the International Youth Federation will serve as official Representative for IYF in one of the five regions. The Regional Director provides leadership to IYF Representatives in the region. The primary responsibility of the Regional Director is to ensure successful engagement of the region countries with the IYF strategies, missions, and vision. 

Mission Statement:
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

(A) IYF Promotion Activities:
  • Liaison with the governments and regional authorities to promote the IYF values, mission, and vision at the regional level.
  • Effectively engage in Regional/International youth activities, projects, and initiatives.

(B) Teams Management/Leadership:
  • Assist IYF administration in Representatives nomination, selections, and appointments. 
  • Assist the Representatives in establishing IYF country team (IYFCT) which comprises national volunteer officers (communications, youth, sport, and women) that are responsible for facilitation of IYF activities at national level. 
  • Originate and attend Region (and Branch as required) online meetings and virtual events.

(C) Regional Coordination Duties: 
  • Develop and expand IYF membership in the Region both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Assist Representatives with engaging in Fundraising Activities, through strategic partnerships and public engagement activities and initiatives.
  • Promote the profile of the IYF and engage with international business.
  • Assist in member organizations/Associations accreditation at IYF.
  • Liaison with donors – In close coordination with the Representatives to develop proposals and secure funding to ensure on-going IYF functions.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key public agencies in the Region and a coherent and professional sponsorship strategy for the whole Region.
  • Generate sponsorship and other income to meet or exceed budget targets.
  • Managing a programme of high-quality events for Members across the Region on a break even or better basis.
  • Financial management of the Region as Budget Holder (in association with Finance Commission).

(D) Communications Duties:
  • Maintain active communication among IYF Representatives and other interested agencies in at regional level.
  • Act as a Regional focal point for Members by responding to inquiries, welcoming new Staff Members, general liaison, and personal contact.
  • Promote continuous improvements in quality of IYF activities and communications.
  • Report youth achievements, success stories, youth progressing and related news at the regional level to HQ press. 
  • In collaboration with region Representatives, Create and manage a Regional PR strategy promoting the IYF, including media interviews, production of articles for press and the Regional Newsletter.
  • Provide annual report about IYF region activities, stats, member organizations.

Monitor and evaluation process (M&E):
The Executive Board review Regional Director annual reports. If she/he do not meet their responsibilities, the Executive Board can offer suggestions. If problems continue, the Regional Director can be put on notice that they may be asked to step down. If, after being put on notice, the level of effort and activity does not improve, IYF Secretary General can ask the Regional Director to resign.

  • Only (18-38) age is accepted for this position.
  • Be a citizen of one of the region countries.
  • Highly interest in youth empowerment and youth issues.

Skills Required for Position
  • Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations quickly, accurately and effectively.

Experience and results preferred at national/international level preferred in youth empowerment role, development, communications, international relations, youth studies, sport, women empowerment, youth-led or another relevant field.

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.

Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.
