Portugal gained membership of the International Youth Federation 

London, United Kingdom:  In a statement issued today, the Executive Board announced that Portugal has gained the permanent membership of the International Youth Federation. 

Portugal is a country of sun, good food, friendly people and, mainly, a country where people are united and get together for big causes. Youth is a crucial part of the Portuguese evolution and economic recovery and the youth movement is the mirror of a nation united and solidary to causes that promote equity, safety, and sustainability. 

Our vision at the IYF is to enable the Portuguese youth to get their voices heard and to give talented and motivated young people the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge to actively contribute to the development of their societies. 

Executive Board announces Mariana Catarino as International Youth Federation Representative in Portugal 

Ms. Mariana was always passionate about people and loves to embrace new challenges that can lead to a greater future. She believes that the youth movement is a crucial part of the society and is capable of contributing to more equal world. She has been an active part of the Portuguese community, supporting several cultural projects, social and environmental causes, promoting sports, participating in several European initiatives and she was Young Ambassador during the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing (China).

Ms. Mariana holds a Master degree in Marketing from Faculty of Economics, University of Porto.
