IYF Governance

As a world governing body, IYF must fulfill numerous different requirements. We are committed to the principles of good governance, transparency, and zero tolerance toward any wrongdoing in any context. The IYF has adapted its structures and procedures in order to meet the evolving needs of the federation’s governance and respond to the increasing complexity of its functions and operations.

THE PRESIDENT
The IYF President holds the highest office at IYF. She/he is elected for four years by The IYF congress, which consists of IYF members. The IYF President’s rights and duties are set forth in the IYF Statutes.

IYF EXECUTIVE BOARD
As the world governing body, IYF must take into account a wide range of developments and other factors and decide on numerous issues in accordance with the IYF Statutes and regulations. The strategy is determined by the IYF Executive Board chaired by the IYF President, a forum where senior IYF officials can directly influence the decision-making process since each has its own representation under the IYF Statutes. The executive’s decisions are guided by the recommendations of central and regional units and bureaux.
