Our Focus Areas

IYF's government partnerships concentrate on six interconnected areas of youth development:

  • Youth Development We support governments in deploying the tools, frameworks, and approaches needed for large-scale youth empowerment — from educational resources and digital devices for remote learning to skill-building kits tailored for national priorities.
  • Capacity Building and Infrastructure Development We provide surge capacity to expand youth development centres, digital hubs, and critical infrastructure in areas with high youth unemployment or limited access to resources.
  • Technical Advisory for Skills Development We guide governments and institutions in maximising existing training facilities and resources, including procuring tools and equipment for hands-on and experiential learning programmes.
  • Advisory Support for Resource Allocation We assist Ministries of Youth, Education, and Development in reallocating existing resources and accessing development partner funding to support youth-targeted initiatives in line with international best practices.
  • Youth-Focused Environmental Management We help governments address environmental sustainability in youth spaces — upgrading facilities, improving waste management systems, and training young workers and participants in sustainable practices.
  • Policy and Advocacy We support governments in developing and implementing policies that ensure equitable access to education, employment, and entrepreneurship for young people, including advocacy for affordable digital tools and training resources.
