International Youth Federation named Gabriela Motroc (Romanian) as Chair of Press Commission

London, United Kingdom:  The Executive Board today named Ms. Gabriela Motroc as new Chair of Press Commission for The International Youth Federation. “We’re delighted to have Ms. Gabriela on board, who demonstrated professionalism during her international experience in the field of press operations,” said Ms. Krystel SANEH, IYF President.

“Gabriela brings international press visibility, extensive experience in communications for non-profit press operations, and unquenchable energy to the Press Commission,” said Ambassador Saeed ZAKI, Secretary-General of The International Youth Federation.

“Without empowering youth, we ignore our joint future and we miss the opportunity to set an example for the generations to come. To quote one of the Gates Institute’s annual letters, “young people are the hope and future of nations”- my wish as Chair of Press Commission is to talk openly about the challenges we face today and to give my peers the confidence they need to participate in discussions on urgent global issues. I will use this privilege to make our community better, stronger and more vocal and encourage my peers to truly become citizens of the world.” Said Ms. Gabriela Motroc, IYF Chair of Press Commission.

Ms. Gabriela is a young professional, reporter and authentic journalist, activist and youth advocate for youth development. She received a scholarship for Excellency in Writing from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and participated in international contests such as Young Reporters against Poverty in Brussels, Belgium, media seminars including Media in Conflicts Seminar in Tel Aviv, Israel and media events such as Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany and European Development Days in Brussels, Belgium.

She has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master's degree in International Communication Management. She was one of the pillars of Consortium for Press Freedom, a group of global journalists who have united to defend the rights of the journalists and to work for press freedom throughout the world.
