Lithuania gained membership of the International Youth Federation

London, United Kingdom:  In a statement issued today, the Executive Board announced that Lithuania has gained the permanent membership of the International Youth Federation.

One of the greatest achievements in Lithuanian youth policy so far has been the concept of ‘co-management and co-decision-making’, which is a cornerstone of the state concept on youth policy. Our vision at the IYF is to enable Lithuanian’s youth to get their voices heard and to give talented and motivated young people the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge to actively contribute to the development of their societies.

Executive Board announces Laura Jonutytė as International Youth Federation Representative in Lithuania

Ms. Laura Jonutytė is a motivated and integrity-driven young leader, passionate about youth empowerment, anthropology, crime prevention, farming, international relations and volunteering. She has demonstrated expertise in business intelligence, data analysis, fraud prevention, investigations and project management.

About her recent appointment, Ms. Jonutytė said: “Youth empowerment is important to me because I do believe that youth are the natural change makers. Youth is often put into small boxes, required to follow the settled rules and forget the inborn creativity. Yet given an opportunity to speak up they can generate an unbelievable amount of great ideas, aiming to change the world. Given a confidence, they can lead the change."
