Press Release: South Africa gained membership of the International Youth Federation 

London, United Kingdom:  In a statement issued today, the Executive Board announced that the Republic of South Africa had gained the permanent membership of the International Youth Federation.  

According to the United Nations Population Fund, South Africa's population is largely made up of young people; those who are below the age of 35 years constitute about 66% per cent of the total population. Our vision at the IYF is to enable young people in South Africa to get their voices heard and giving talented and motivated young people the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge to actively contribute to the development of their societies.  

Executive Board announces Kefiloe Mokoena as International Youth Federation Representative in South Africa

Mr. Kefiloe is a young leader from South Africa, passionate about community development and youth empowerment in Africa. Through his work experience, he has worked in the field of intercultural learning and regional exchange for the past five years as a programme coordinator and volunteer at AFS Interculture South Africa. In 2010, he was chosen as one of ten young South Africans to take part in the Southern Africa Youth Exchange Program and volunteered at Centre for Mozambique International studies and lived Maputo, Mozambique for six months.

Mr. Kefiloe holds a Certificate in Project management and community development from the University of Wits Enterprise.
