International Youth Federation announces Mireille Maddah as Assistant Secretary-General

London, United Kingdom:  The International Youth Federation named Ms. Mireille Maddah as Assistant Secretary General and Director of Bureau of Management (BOM). The decision announced via Executive Board.

“IYF management has clear ambitions to extend the global reach. This is a key element of its development strategy. In this regard we are delighted to have Ms. Mireille with us on board in this global youth movement.” said Ambassador Saeed ZAKI, IYF Secretary-General.

In a comment on her appointment, Ms. Mireille said “To share a platform, such as IYF, with people holding onto ideas of innovation, change, and solidarity - is an opportunity to paint the broad strokes of the youth's abilities around the world. This designated appointment means that more hopeful voices will be heard, potentials will be cultivated, and the youth's circle of influence shall grow stronger together".

Ms. Mireille is a young professional leader, Award-winning activist, mentor and youth advocate passionate about youth development, women empowerment, peacebuilding and international relations. In 2013 while she was the only one from the Middle East and the Arab region amongst 4 other world contesters, she received the Sustainable Industrial Development Programs Award from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for her presented paper as a model of Lebanese excellence and innovations accomplished by Lebanon’s youth at global platforms. She studied International Affairs at American University of Science and Technology in Beirut, Lebanon.
