(IYF Morocco): The International Youth Federation in Morocco organized a workshop under the theme of peace and dialogue in collaboration with Global Peace Chain and the International Peace Youth Group.

An open call of participation was launched by the IYF Country Team in Morocco led by Dr. Sara Haddou Amar. The Young Peacebuilders programme are managed by Fatima Ezzahra Hayad, IYF Communication and Social Media Assistant and Hasnae Kharbouch, Country Ambassador of the Global Peace Chain.

“Peace is one of the most important issues, especially in the MENA Region. The idea of the peacebuilding workshop is to invite youth to discuss the resolution of conflicts and create an environment of dialogue and mutual respect. We tried to create an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and engage in a discussion regarding the SDGs and especially the SDG16: Peace, Justice and strong institutions” said Dr. Sara Haddou Amar, IYF Representative in Morocco.

The workshop aimed to present the peace letter initiative launched by the International Youth Peace Group (HWPL) to engage young peacebuilders in supporting the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).

At the end of the workshop, the participants received their certificates with special thanks to the IYF partners in Morocco who contributed to making this workshop succeeded. A second online edition of the workshop will be launched soon in order to give the opportunity to young people who could not attend the workshop to participate in the peace letter project.
